Customer Service Representative / Client Care Specialist

Led by Dr. Petersen, our veterinarians are well educated and experienced. Most of all, they simply love animals. They are backed by a skilled support team that is friendly and enthusiastic. By next summer we will be in our brand new state of the art standalone hospital. As our new team member, you will be a part of this exciting time for our hospital. The new hospital will be located only 3 miles from our current location.
Our location: 420 Colton Circle NE, Unit 3, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402
Specific responsibilities & duties to include:  
  • Greeting Clients - checking patients in, discharging patients, dispensing medications & prescriptions, invoicing
  • Phone Reception - answering multiple phone lines, addressing client inquiries, scheduling appointments for multiple doctors, recording messages for doctors and staff
  • Client Communication - patient updates, appointment reminders, update inquiries
  • Inputting data into electronic medical record system (Avimark)
  • Receiving Client Payments - posting & recording payments, receiving payment, running end of day transaction register
  • Check clinic email, fax & phone messaging- prescription refill requests, appointment requests, client inquiries
  • General Office duties- cleaning / organizing reception area
  • Assisting Practice Manager with other projects that will benefit the hospitals efficiency
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree is required or equivalent
  • Must have 5-10 years of face-to-face proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to think clearly and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt easily to change/handle working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to demonstrate maturity, resiliency, and sound judgment when dealing with challenges
  • Can maintain a sense of humor in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Dependability and punctuality is a must
  • Must have a can-do attitude and be a team player
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs unaided
  • Ability to stand/walk for entire shift
  • Experience/knowledge in a veterinary environment is preferred
  • IMPORTANT: This position requires a flexible schedule, working 7:50am-6pm 4 days a week. Also, you must be willing to work 2 Saturdays a month, 7:50am-12pm.

Offered Salary & Other Compensation:
Depending on your experience and performance record, we offer a base pay range to $15-$18/hour.
Paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, retirement plan after 1 year of service, employee pet discount and monthly bonus opportunities.
